Penetration of the electric and magnetic field components of Schumann resonances into the ionosphere

چکیده
A penetration of electric and magnetic fields of the first global electromagnetic ELF resonance into the ionosphere in the cavity Earth-ionosphere is investigated numerically. It is shown that a penetration height for magnetic components is 2–3 times greater than for electric components and it depends essentially on the value of the geomagnetic field and its orientation with respect to the normal to the Earth’s surface. A penetration height for the electric field is about 50 ÷70 km, and for the magnetic field it is 120÷240 km. An influence of variations of the conductivity of the ionosphere at the daytime and nighttime and under different solar activity on a penetration of the fields of the first Schumann resonance has been investigated.

Power variations of Schumann resonances related to El Niño and La Niña phenomena
[1] A three dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD)model of the Earth-ionosphere cavitywith the realistic conductivity profile is employed to study the intensity variations of Schumann resonances (SR) associated with the El Niño and La Niña phenomena. Comparison of the results derived from our FDTD model and the previous studies by other authors on related subjects shows that the inten...

In 1954 and 1960 Koenig and his colleagues described the remarkable similarities of spectral power density profiles and patterns between the earth-ionosphere resonance and human brain activity which also share magnitudes for both electric field (mV/m) and magnetic field (pT) components. In 2006 Pobachenko and colleagues reported real time coherence between variations in the Schumann and brain a...
متن کاملSchumann Resonance Frequencies Found Within Quantitative Electroencephalographic Activity: Implications for Earth-Brain Interactions
Recent measurements of cerebral quantitative electroencephalographic power densities within the first three harmonics of the earth-ionosphere Schumann resonances and the same order of magnitude for both systems electric and magnetic (pT) fields suggest the possibility of direct intercalation or interaction. The phase modulations of the Schumann propagations and those associated with consciousne...

[1] Using 8 years of ionospheric drift measurements from the low-latitude JULIA (Jicamarca Unattended Long-term Investigations of the Ionosphere and Atmosphere) radar and the solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field data from the ACE (Advance Composition Explorer) satellite, we study the characteristics of the prompt penetration of electric fields to the equatorial ionosphere. A large datab...
متن کاملMagnetic Field Effects on the Elastic Behavior of Polymeric Piezoelectric Cylinder Reinforced with CNTs
In the present study, the magnetic field effects of the elastic response of the polymeric piezoelectric cylinder reinforced with the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are studied. The cylinder is subjected to an internal pressure, a constant electric potential difference at the inner and outer surfaces, and the thermal and magnetic fields. The Mori-Tanaka model is used for obtaining the equivalent materi...
